Choose to be Debt Free

For many Americans when asked, “What part of your financial life gives you the most trouble?” They often answer paying down debt. I believe this is so because debt is mathematically and spiritually powerful. Proverbs 22:7 says, “The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower becomes the lender’s slave.” Excessive debt often is, just a bad habit that needs to be broken.

Getting in control of debt first starts with knowing financially where you stand and then moving forward. At least once yearly it’s a great choice to check your credit report for accuracy: and you can do so for free through the three major credit bureaus. Get your report online at www.annualcreditreport.com  or by contacting Experian at 1888-397-3742 or Equifax 1800-685-1111 or TransUnion at 1877-322-8228.

Going online or calling the bureaus gets the ‘debt-free’ ball rolling and puts the momentum in your favor.
Lastly, let me encourage you to create and stick to a budget. If you urgently want to be debt free, a budget will help you to track your money.
There are three important things that your budget will show: 1. What’s coming in. 2. What’s going out 3. Where it’s going
